Retrospective


With the completion of  first solo game jam since the Java4K competition in 2011 I thought I'd leave some learnings that I had:

  1. I don't know if I'd have done this if I didn't have the complete idea in the first 24 hours. Focus that time on creativity, and find time to implement it in over the rest of the week. 
  2. Graphics fiddling takes time. There's really only so much I can do by tweaking material settings, but that's my lot for now. I have to dive in and figure out what all of the different knobs are to prevent some of the artifacts that still exist on future games. 
  3. Get feedback from the community early. I was able to fix a herky-jerky bug in the last hour of the submission deadline, but if it was something more substantial, I might have not had time.
